Viva Volunteers!
On Monday night, September 9th, a large group of seventh-graders from Our Lady's visited the shul with their teachers. There were lots of children – sixty to eighty, maybe more. Some parents, both fathers and mothers, also attended.
The chidren had lots of questions about who we were, our relationship with the community, and our message; as well as questions about Jews, Judaism, and the Bible/Torah.
Shul President Benyomin Fleischmann hosted them. They learned about the shul, the history of the community and building. They enjoyed stories about the founders, such as Morris Freid, and about Elmer Lippin, and also about current members.
Everyone had a great (and educational) time. Any groups wishing to set up similar educational events or tours are invited to contact Beri Gilfix or Benyomin Fleischmann via the shul office.
